DawnScan ("the Site") complies with applicable data-protection laws and describes below how it handles users' personal information.

1. Information We Collect

  • The Site has no account registration or login feature and does not directly collect personally identifying information such as name, email address, or phone number.
  • The following information may be collected automatically in the course of operating the service: access logs (IP address, browser type, access time, pages visited — server logs), service usage records (e.g. stock symbols searched; IP addresses are stored in hashed form).
  • Automatically collected records are used only for service operation, statistics, and error analysis.

2. Use of Cookies

  • The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to save your display-theme preference (localStorage) and for traffic analysis. Advertising cookies apply only under the conditions in section 4 below.
  • You may refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so may prevent some features (such as theme preference) from working correctly.

3. Web Analytics (Google Analytics · Cloudflare Web Analytics)

  • The Site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to improve the service. GA4 uses cookies to collect non-identifying statistical information such as pages visited, time on site, and referral source.
  • Information collected is processed under Google's privacy policy: Google Privacy Policy
  • If you do not want Google Analytics to collect your data, you can use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • The Site is served through Cloudflare, and the Cloudflare Web Analytics measurement script (static.cloudflareinsights.com/beacon.min.js) is automatically injected into every page. It measures page-load performance and visit statistics; Cloudflare states that this tool uses neither cookies nor device fingerprinting: Cloudflare Web Analytics documentation
  • On some calculator pages (e.g. /asset-compare), we additionally collect calculator usage events via GA4 — which calculator you ran, which run number that was in the same visit, whether you changed any default assumption, what kind of error you hit (if any), which related link you followed, and whether you copied the share link. We do not collect the investment amount, remaining deduction, asset names, or the calculated result figures you entered, in any form (including bucketed or hashed values). The purpose is solely to understand which features are actually used.

4. Advertising (Google AdSense)

  • No page on this Site currently serves advertising — ad code has been removed site-wide. What follows describes what applies if Google AdSense advertising is re-enabled, and then only on pages a human has individually reviewed and approved. Where ads are served, Google and other third-party advertising vendors may use advertising cookies to serve personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

5. Third-Party Disclosure and Retention Period

  • Other than the services described in sections 3 and 4 (Google Analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics, and Google AdSense where advertising is enabled), the Site does not disclose or sell collected information to third parties.
  • Server access logs are retained for a limited period (up to several months) for operational and security purposes and then automatically deleted.
  • Except where required by law, collected information is not used for any other purpose.

6. Your Rights

  • You may refuse cookie collection at any time through your browser settings (see the opt-out links in sections 3 and 4).
  • Because the Site does not accept account registration and does not directly collect or hold personally identifying information, it does not maintain a separate procedure for access, correction, or deletion requests.
  • Opting out of personalized-advertising or analytics cookies can be done directly through each provider's (Google's) link in sections 3 and 4.

7. Other

  • This policy may be revised to reflect changes in law or the service; any changes will be posted on this page.

Summary — The Site does not collect member information. The measurement tools currently in use are cookie-based Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare injects automatically; no page serves advertising. If advertising is re-enabled, the ad-cookie terms in section 4 apply. You may opt out of analytics collection and personalized advertising at any time via the links above.
